Hugo Boss The Scent
It happened again didn’t it? You went out to the mall and tried on a couple of colognes thinking you found your personal signature scent only to smell it all over the place.
I know your story…that was me…
I have a question for you……Are you still looking for a signature scent that while popular is only used by men who know what it takes to attract women?
Come on….admit it! This isn’t the first time you’ve picked a dud that just won’t work for you. Let me guess you’re still fooling with scents from a Top Colognes for Men List, aren’t you?
Well if you’re still looking for the Ultimate Signature Scent, I have the perfect one for you that works not only at work or school but will work in bars, clubs and first dates.
This is a scent that not only gets compliments, it can lead to one of the best ice breaking questions a woman can ask. “What is that you’re wearing, it smells so good on you?”
That cologne of course is Hugo Boss The Scent. Released in 2015, The Scent is one of only 3 colognes (as of this writing) that features the unique and exotic fragrance note, Maninka Fruit as its middle note.
Maninka Fruit hails from Africa and creates a fragrance that is said to be an aphrodisiac. This scent is a combination of dried fruit and chocolate.
What Else Is In It?
Combined with Bergamot & Mandarin Orange (Citrus Notes Enhance Mood), Ginger (A Natural Aphrodisiac that helps reduce anxiety) and Leather (Represents Strength), Lavender (Represents Class) this cologne comes together to produce a scent that says
- Top Notes: Bergamot, Ginger, Mandarin Orange
- Middle Notes: Lavender Maninka Fruit
- Base Notes: Leather Wood Notes
The Scent and its Flanker Brother, Hugo Boss The Scent Intense are my go-to colognes for planned encounters like date night or even work where I wanted to attract and hold the attention of the new lady in IT.
This wasn’t a situation where I wanted to go with something common and at times over the top like Acqua Di Gio.
I also felt it was too soon for something else from my arsenal like Bleu De Channel or Versace Eros, two awesome scents but a little too much for an office first contact.
The Boss Scent is just what the doctor ordered. I used it as a cover scent for a few sprays of Liquid Trust, an oxytocin-based pheromone.
Testing The Scent At Work
Based on my experience with this cologne, it was necessary to spray it on about an hour before heading in. The Scent on my body tends to run through its top notes fairly fast on my body so I planned to head in as they were vanishing and the middle notes including the Maninka Fruit kicked in.
As expected, (oh the ego on this guy) one of the first things out of her mouth before I can’t get into the system was “I love your cologne, what is it?”
Working to get her credentials updated (close one on one work) showcased the value of a cologne that plays close to the body. To my mind, natural resistance you would see when two strangers come together seemed to vanish quickly.
It took over an hour to get her set up to work thanks to having to interact with other IT units located offshore, a constant pain in the ass that this time I was actually thankful for.
By the time we were set up, it was nearly lunch time…. I was able to secure a lunch “date” and the rest hopefully will be as they say history.
It’s my thinking the combination of a little personality, a great cologne for men and a touch of Liquid Trust helped me break the ice quickly that will no doubt lead to a great working relationship and perhaps more in the future.
